It's opening day once again for the 64 teams that remain alive in the chase for the NCAA baseball championship.
Regionals begin Friday with two games at each of the 16 first-round sites, hosted by the national seeds. No. 1 UCLA leads the field and will open play against Saint Mary's in Los Angeles.
Those national seeds will be favored across the board, but the most intriguing matchups Friday figure to be those between No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in each regional. That includes Tennessee vs. East Carolina in Chapel Hill, Wake Forest vs. Kentucky in Morgantown, and Ole Miss vs. Arizona State in Lincoln.
