The Los Angeles Clippers and guard Bogdan Bogdanovic have agreed that the team will wait before making a decision on his $16 million club option.
Bogdanovic signed a four-year, $68 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, though he ended up being traded to the Clippers after the first year of his extension.
Since then, he has resided in LA as a floor spacer and secondary ball-handler, though with the Clippers going through a reshuffling, the organization is seemingly looking to move on.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Clippers and Bogdanovic agreed to push back his 2026-27 club option date from June 26 to June 29, giving more time to engage in trade talks.

At 33, Bogdanovic is coming off a really bad season in which he played only 23 games and averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
Additionally, he shot just 38.8% from the field and 34.7% from deep, struggling to make the most of his time on the court.

Likely, if the Clippers cannot find a team to take him on, they will decline the option and make him available as a free agent, where he will surely find some work, but will likely not touch anywhere near the $16 million figure.
Instead, he will get a one-year “prove-it” deal with a team that needs some help on the wings. In theory, his archetype is valuable, and there would be multiple interested parties in a player who is a career good shooter who has some juice off the dribble.
There is some reasonable justification for his struggles, with his ruptured hamstring at the start of the year setting him back significantly.
Before the end of the season, Bogdanovic was rumored to be considering a return to Europe, but he quickly shut it down, and the NBA world should have enough interest to keep him stateside, possibly with a contender.
