There was never much doubt about how much Clemsonfootball meant to Cade Klubnik, and that connection ultimately shaped the path he chose. Even with chances to leave for other opportunities, the quarterback stayed put for his senior season, determined to finish what he started in Tigertown.

That decision didn’t lead to a perfect ending, but it didn’t erase what he accomplished either. Klubnik closed out his career as one of the more productive quarterbacks the program has seen, and on Saturday, he took the next step. The New York Jets selected him with the No. 110 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, making him the sixth Clemson player taken this year.

Klubnik leaves Clemson with a long list of achievements. Across 49 appearances, including 40 starts, he threw for 10,123 yards with 73 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. His experience stood out in a crowded quarterback class, and he also added a strong rushing element with 878 yards and 17 scores on the ground. By the end of his career, he totaled 11,001 yards of offense, placing him among a small group of quarterbacks in school history to reach that mark.

The Texas native also etched his name throughout the record book. He set program records in completions and attempts, while finishing near the top in passing yards, touchdowns, and total offense. His 26 wins as a starter rank among the best in school history, and he became one of only a handful of Clemson quarterbacks since World War II to reach at least 25 victories.

His 2024 season stands as his most complete showing. Klubnik accounted for 43 total touchdowns while limiting mistakes, producing one of the most efficient seasons in recent memory. He consistently moved the offense, stacking yardage and putting together a long stretch of games with steady production.

Now, he heads to the NFL with experience, durability, and a resume that reflects both consistency and flashes of high-level play.
