Weather wasn’t enough to keep the Clatsop County’s North Coast Paddling Club off the water.
On Aug. 1, 52 teams (women’s and mixed) took part in the Paddle for Life dragon boat race in Ridgefield, Washington. Teams took part in the race to raise money for breast cancer research. In addition, seven teams of paddlers who are cancer survivors also raced in the event.
The final race for North Coast Paddling Club takes place in Portland on the weekend of Sept. 12 and 13 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
