On Wednesday night, Holy Cross HS (CT) wide receiver recruit Dae’sean Graves officially announced his commitment to UConn on X. He is the first Class of 2027 commit for the Huskies.
Graves turned down offers from the Syracuse Orange, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the UMass Minutemen, and the Liberty Flames. In his two-year varsity career, the junior has been stellar for his prep school in Waterbury, Connecticut.
During the team’s 2024-2025 season, he played 10 games as a sophomore, recording 74 receptions for 1,215 yards and 18 touchdowns. Following the 2024-2025 stretch, Graves was ranked top-5 in Connecticut and top-222 nationally in receiving yards.
In the 2025-2026 campaign, the wideout helped Holy Cross to an overall 8-4 record. In 12 meetings, the Waterbury native hauled in 80 catches for 1,149 yards and 20 TDs, averaging 14.4 yards per catch.
While wide receiver is Graves’ primary position, it’s not his only skill. Defensively, the junior has tallied a total of 93 tackles, four interceptions, and a sack in 22 games as a free safety.
On special teams, Graves returned the ball 22 times between his sophomore and junior years. On kick-offs, the rising senior has notched 133 yards and has registered 339 yards off punt returns. In his junior year, Graves averaged 31.6 yards per punt return and ranked second in Connecticut.
