Christian Falk drops Archie Gray to Bayern Munich transfer update


Tottenham Hotspur are enduring a disastrous 2025-26 campaign and are facing the real prospect of relegation.


While it seems almost unthinkable that a squad of this quality could drop into the Championship next season, the reality is that they sit just one point above the relegation zone.


With six consecutive defeats in all competitions and their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread, Spurs could face a potential mass exodus if they were to go down.

Archie Gray situation at Tottenham​

Even if Spurs manage to maintain their Premier League status, failure to qualify for Europe could prove costly, and they may have to sell a few players to trim their bloated squad.


Archie Gray joined Spurs in the summer of 2024 from Leeds United for a fee of around £40m, and he has made excellent progress since his arrival. Widely regarded as a generational talent, the 19-year-old made 46 appearances in all competitions last season.


Gray has featured 19 times in the Premier League, starting 15 of those matches, while scoring two goals and registering two assists. He has also made seven appearances in the Champions League, starting six of them.


Although he is most comfortable as a central midfielder, Spurs have deployed him in multiple positions, including as a centre-back last season. Gray is also capable of playing as a full-back as well as in more advanced midfield roles.


The technically gifted midfielder would be a fantastic addition for any side, and several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, are reportedly vying for his signature.

Are Bayern Munich interested in Archie Gray?​

Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern that Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Archie Gray.


However, a move to Germany could still be possible, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Julian Brandt.


While there is no doubt about Gray’s quality, Bayern already possess a strong pool of emerging talent coming through their academy ranks.


Lennart Karl, 19, has already become a regular member of Vincent Kompany’s squad, while Maycon Douglas Cardozo has also been handed opportunities in recent weeks.


Bayern are expected to lose Leon Goretzka next summer, but they are already planning for the future, with 20-year-old midfielder Noel Aseko — currently on loan at Hannover — viewed as a potential replacement.


David Santos is another highly rated prospect, and Bayern are keen to give him more opportunities next season. As a result, investing in Gray could hinder the development of their in-house talents, which would go against Bayern’s long-standing working philosophy.
