Chris Eunank Jnr missed weight by 0.5lbs - PA/Bradley Collyer

Chris Eubank Jr has missed weight by just 0.5lbs for his grudge match against Conor Benn and has been hit with a half-a-million-dollar fine.

The 35-year-old arrived an hour late to his scheduled weigh-in and failed to hit the 160lb limit imposed on the fight by 0.2lbs on his first attempt and then 0.5lbs on his second and final attempt.

It will see $500,000 (£375,000) deducted from his purse and added on to Benn’s as a result of a clause in their contract.

Benn, who has fought at welterweight for the most of his career, weighed in at 156.4lbs and celebrated by posting a video of the “Show me the money” scene from the Jerry Maguire film on social media.

Eubank and Benn are both bound by a rehydration clause that prohibits them from weighing more than 12st 1lb on Saturday morning.
