Could Carolina Panthers receiver Chris Brazzell II be the second coming of the chosen one?

The team kicked off it's two-day rookie minicamp this morning, with Brazzell among the 36 players hitting the practice field in uptown Charlotte. But despite it being the 2026 third-round pick's first appearance in the black and blue, the sight looked awfully familiar—at least to beat writer Sheena Quick . . .

The answer? Former Panthers wideout Robby Anderson . . . or Robbie Anderson . . . or Robbie Chosen . . . or Robby Chosen Anderson.

Well, whatever version you choose, Brazzell does strike a resemblance. Similarly to Anderson, Brazzell stands quite tall at 6-foot-4, walks around at a somewhat slender 189 pounds and has speed for days.

Quick asked head coach Dave Canales about the comparison following today's session.

"Yeah, I try to stay away from comparisons, but I'll be fair—tall guy like that with the speed that he has, there are some similarities there," Canales replied with a smile. "And Robby was able to make an impact pretty early with his ability to capture the offense."

Anderson played nearly three seasons in Carolina, where totaled 161 grabs for 1,821 yards and nine touchdowns. As alluded to by Canales, he did catch on quickly for the Panthers—posting a career-high 1,096 receiving yards in his first campaign with the club.

The Panthers are probably hoping that Brazzell, a first-team All-SEC selection in 2025, can do the same.

"And that's the challenge that's out there for Chris," Canales continued. "How quickly can we get him up to speed in our concepts? Knowing where to fit in, the splits—there's a lot of things he's gotta work on."

Brazzell was taken with the 83rd overall pick of the 2026 draft. The 22-year-old will join a room that already features 2025 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan, 2024 first-round pick Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker.
