It's (very) safe to say that the 2026 NFL Draft didn't unfold the way that Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan thought it would.
We learned that on Tuesday night, with the release of the latest episode of Panthers Blueprint. The 38-minute short film documented the team's adventure through this year's selection process, and included a few surprises.
To the disbelief of Morgan, wide receiver Chris Brazzell II slid all the way down to the third round—where Carolina gladly snatched him up with the 83rd overall pick. And Morgan's reaction to the heist may have been more shocking than the heist itself . . .

Given his enticing blend of size (6-foot-4, 198 pounds) and speed (4.37-second 40-yard dash), Brazzell was considered by many as a late first-round to early second-round prospect. The first-team All-SEC member also came into the pros with the production, having amassed 1,017 receiving yards and a conference-leading nine touchdowns for the Tennessee Volunteers in 2025.
With the Panthers offense looking for more explosives, Brazzell may be able to make an immediate impact—and that probably wouldn't surprise Morgan.
