On Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs remained active on the trade market, negotiating with the Pittsburgh Steelers to move up to the No. 156 pick in the fifth round.

In exchange for the No. 156 selection, Kansas City sent Pittsburgh pick Nos. 164 and 226 in the fifth and seventh rounds, respectively.

Ultimately, the Chiefs chose Oregon Ducks linebacker Jeffrey Bassa with the No. 156 pick to add a valuable prospect to the middle of their defense.

Kansas City entered the 2025 NFL draft with three selections in the seventh round, so Chiefs general manager Brett Veach still has two picks to play with on Day 3.
