With free agency and the 2025 NFL draft behind them, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to enter the longest part of the offseason with all the talent they need to defend their AFC championship next fall.
However, even with every need addressed, Kansas City's front office can never afford to take their foot off the gas pedal.
As such, it would make sense for the Chiefs to take a look at signing one or more of the star players who are still available before training camp starts this summer.
Take a look at the five top free agents Kansas City should consider picking up:
The Chiefs' secondary is already loaded, and the addition of a player like Samuel could put the unit over the top heading into the 2025 season. Though this isn't necessarily the Chiefs' biggest need right now, Samuel could blossom into a star in Kansas City if the team decides to take a chance on him.
Scherff earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 and could be exactly the type of lineman the Chiefs need to sign to compensate for the loss of Joe Thuney. A proven asset, Scherff will be an asset for whichever team is lucky enough to agree to a deal with him.
It isn't often that a four-time Pro Bowler is available in free agency this late in the year, and the Chiefs are always keen to add pass rushers. Though it may seem unlikely that Kansas City's front office would kick the tires on Judon after selecting an edge rusher in the 2025 NFL draft, fans should expect the Chiefs to explore all options to augment their front four next season.
Chubb is one of the most exciting running backs in the NFL, and while injuries will be a concern for him wherever he signs, Kansas City would be wise to consider taking a chance on him if Andy Reid wants to revolutionize the Chiefs' running game next season. If utilized in tandem with Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, Chubb could be a perfect complient to Kansas City's existing ground attack.
