The Kansas City Chiefs need help at cornerback and they might be turning to an old friend, L’Jarius Sneed, for help.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Chiefs are bringing Sneed in for a visit on Thursday.
“Free-agent CB L’Jarius Sneed is visiting today with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Schefter reported.
Of course, Sneed was a fourth-round NFL Draft pick of the Chiefs in 2020 and spent his first four seasons in the NFL with Kansas City, where he won a pair of Super Bowls.
The Chiefs traded Sneed to the Tennessee Titans in 2024 in exchange for a third-round draft pick and a swap of seventh-round picks.
He spent two years with Tennessee before he was cut earlier this offseason following his unsuccessful stint in Nashville.

The Chiefs lost a pair of starting corners this offseason in Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie.
Kansas City traded McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in a deal that netted them several draft picks, including a 2026 first-round selection.
Watson is also with the Rams after signing with them in free agency.
Kansas City has since drafted Mansoor Delane, but at the very least the team could use more competition for the starting role opposite the rookie, and more depth overall.
Newly acquired cornerback for the Tennessee Titans L’Jarius Sneed fields questions at his press conference at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park Tuesday morning, April 2, 2024.
During his days with the Chiefs, Sneed was considered one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL.
However, after the trade to the Titans that came in tandem with a four-year, $76 million contract extension, Sneed’s career hit the skids.

Sneed appeared in just 12 games over two seasons with the Titans because of injury, and he wasn’t very effective when on the field, either.
In 2025, Sneed played in seven contests and gave up a completion rate of 61.3% and a passer rating of 120.0 when targeted.
Part of the reason Sneed has remained available this long is because he had to deal with a legal issue during the offseason.
Sneed was initially charged with aggravated assault stemming from a shooting at a Dallas car dealership in December of 2024.
The charge was then reduced to a misdemeanor offense before it was dropped completely in May of this year.
