Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Creed Humphrey spoke with reporters virtually on Tuesday, reflecting on his experience in the NFL Draft.
"A lot of emotions throughout that entire process, so getting that call was a huge relief. And it was also a ton of excitement, just because I feel like it was the perfect fit for me," said Humphrey. "Being close to Oklahoma still, getting to play with a Hall of Fame quarterback (Patrick Mahomes), a Hall of Fame coach (Andy Reid), all those things. I think it was the perfect fit for me. It was a ton of excitement and a ton of relief, too, just having that process over with."
Humphrey has been named an All-Pro twice and selected to the Pro Bowl three times since being drafted in 2021. The two-time Super Bowl champion led all centers in offensive snaps with 1,112 last season.
Last year, before the start of the 2024 season, Humphrey became the highest-paid center in the NFL after signing a four-year, $72,000,000 extension. The Chiefs are hoping to replicate the success they had in selecting Humphrey in 2021 with this year's class.
