It'll be a busy 2026 NBA All-Star weekend for Chet Holmgren. Not only will he participate in Sunday's three-team round-robin tournament that has replaced the traditional All-Star Game, but he will also be part of Saturday's fan-favorite activities.
Holmgren will be part of the Shooting Stars challenge. He will be part of Team All-Star in the four-team event alongside Scottie Barnes and Richard Hamilton. All four teams are made up of two NBA players and one NBA legend.
The other three teams include Team Cameron with Jalen Johnson, Kon Knueppel and Corey Magette; Team Harper with Dylan Harper, Ron Harper Jr. ad Ron Harper; Team Knicks with Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Allan Houston.
It's a timed shooting competition of just two rounds. The four teams will compete in the first round before it's dwindled to just two. Teams will compete one at a time and will have 70 seconds to score points from seven different locations on the court.
Teams will shoot in a set order. All three members will shoot at each location. The top highest-scoring teams will advance to the finals. From there, whoever has the high score wins the Saturday event.
Got it? I know it's a lot to digest. It's part of the NBA's latest efforts to make All-Star weekend must-watch TV. The Oklahoma City Thunder will only have Holmgren participate, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was ruled out with an abdominal strain that will sideline him for at least five games.
The 2026 NBA All-Star weekend takes place from Feb. 13-15 at LA's Intuit Dome.
