Tennessee is holding summer football workouts ahead of its 2026 season. The Vols will kick off their campaign on Sept. 5 versus Furman at Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT and the season opener can be watched on SEC Network+.
On Friday, Pete Nakos of On3 announced Tennessee sophomore defensive lineman Chaz Coleman has not reported for summer workouts.
"Tennessee EDGE Chaz Coleman has yet to report to Knoxville for summer workouts as of Friday morning, sources tell On3," Nakos announced on social media. "His status with the program moving forward is unclear."
Coleman transferred to Tennessee from Penn State in January. He appeared in five games for the Nittany Lions in 2025 as a freshman, recording eight tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one pass deflection.

Following Tennessee's Orange & White Game at Neyland Stadium on April 11 to conclude spring football practices, sixth-year head coach Josh Heupel discussed the status of Coleman.
"Ultimately, Chaz is dealing with some things off the field, and he's got to handle that and go through that process," Heupel said. "We're here to help and support him in all those ways, and we'll continue to do that, but that's ultimately the beginning of his journey right now, and there's some things he has to work with."
