Over the next few weeks ahead of training camp, I will continue to break down the depth chart for each Chargers position.
Quarterback
Running back
Wide receiver
Tight end
Offensive line
Defensive line
Edge rusher
Linebacker
Next, I project what the cornerback room will look like heading into the 2026 season.
Jackson enters his second season in Los Angeles as the veteran of the cornerback room. After a highly productive campaign in which he tallied four interceptions and allowed a 56.3 passer rating when targeted, he looks to further establish himself as a premier cover corner in coordinator Chris O'Leary's defense.
Hart, the former fifth-round pick, made a massive leap during his first two seasons. The former Notre Dame product, who forced 11 pass breakups, is projected to serve as the other starting outside corner opposite Jackson.
Still, who is also entering his third season, will start in the slot. Donning a new No. 4 jersey for 2026, the former Maryland product is building on a promising sophomore year in which he logged a strong 70.0 PFF coverage grade.
Re-signed to a one-year deal, Leonard is a special teams ace for coordinator Ryan Ficken. He will continue to function as a core gunner on punt coverage and provide depth in the secondary if injuries arise.
Reed burst onto the scene as an undrafted rookie out of Oregon last summer and successfully claimed a backup nickel role. Heading into 2026, he will fight for another 53-man roster spot during training camp, along with a few others, including Eric Rogers, who are pushing for a spot.
