The UNC baseball squad made quick work of its own NCAA Tournament Regional, smacking VCU before taking down East Carolina twice to win, advancing to host its third-straight Super Regional.

Thanks to the College Station Regional going an extra game, North Carolina waited another couple days to discover its own Super Regional opponent.

The Diamond Heels now know they'll be facing the USC Trojans, with the official Super Regional scheduled released Tuesday morning.

UNC and USC will begin with a 3 p.m. first pitch on Friday, with fans able to watch on ESPN2. The Diamond Heels and Trojans will continue with a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, which will be broadcast on ESPN. If a Game 3 is needed, North Carolina and Southern Cal will battle Sunday at a time TBD.

UNC played each of its Regional games at 5 p.m., with the summer heat not proving much of a threat. USC wrapped up the College Station Regional with a nighttime game, avoid that deadly Texas heat.

According to early forecasts, both the Diamond Heels and Trojans will be in for scorchers Friday and Saturday. Friday's high is currently projected to be 93 degrees, with Saturday's temp set for 94. Good news for both teams: they're used to the heat.

North Carolina hosted Arizona in the 2025 Chapel Hill Super Regional, dominating in Game 1 before the offense disappeared Games 2 and 3. UNC's bats have to continue producing, just like in last weekend's Chapel Hill Regional, while pitchers need to find ways to neutralize USC's red-hot offense.

Now that you know when the Diamond Heels will play this coming weekend, start making those plans to watch your boys play more postseason baseball.
