MIDDLEBURY — Northridge High School is looking for a new head baseball coach.

The school issued a release on Thursday that Chad Gerard is stepping down from that position.

Gerard informed the athletes and coaches of his decision Tuesday at the team’s postseason awards banquet. The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

The Raiders won the Northern Lakes Conference title in Gerard’s first year in 2021. This past season Northridge finished 12-15 and fell to Concord, 3-2, in eight innings in Class 4A sectional semifinal action.

“We are appreciative of coach Gerard for his professionalism throughout his five years at Northridge,” said Northridge athletic director Ryan Bales.

“There are several ups and downs with coaching, but through it all, he maintained of level of integrity while leading the program. We wish him nothing but the best.”

Bales is excited about the future of the baseball program.

“We feel we have some returning talent within the current high school program to be competitive next year, and hopefully for years to come,” Bales said.
