Former Tennessee baseball head coach Dave Serrano has resigned at Johnson University.
He guided the Royals to the Avista NAIA World Series and their first 40-win season in school history during the 2026 season.
Serrano's first season was in 2024, after the program won six games during the 2023 season. He returned to East Tennessee after a stint as Cal State Northridge's head coach.
During his tenure with the Royals, Serrano compiled an overall head coaching record of 100-53 and guided Johnson to two NAIA Tournament appearances. He won his 100th game at the school during the 2026 NAIA Tournament.
Serrano was Tennessee's head coach from 2012-17, compiling a 157-163 (55-120 SEC) record. He also served as an assistant coach at Tennessee from 1995-96 under head coach Rod Delmonico.
Serrano also served as head coach at UC Irvine (2005-07), Cal State Fullerton (2008-11) and Cal State Northridge (2020-22). He won three Big West championships with Cal State Fullerton (2008, 2010-11).
