The New Orleans Saints took a quarterback in the second round of last weekend's 2025 NFL Draft. However, it's not a sure thing that Tyler Shough is the franchise's future at the position. FOX Sports' RJ Young wonders if Kellen Moore's team has Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning in the back of its mind.
Discussing that Tuesday on "The Number One College Football Show," Young said Archie Manning, the passer's grandfather, "has looked over the recruiting process and probably looked over the agent process and the NFL process since the jump."
Arch Manning could choose to enter the 2026 NFL Draft. Archie maneuvered things for his youngest son, Eli, to land with the New York Giants rather than the San Diego Chargers in 2004.

"Could that be in the offing again?" Young asked about Arch Manning's situation. "Would he want Arch to play for the Saints? Do we think the Saints are the kind of organization that would be open to what the Mannings would want from them? Not for nothing, but this is a family that is from New Orleans."
Young also considered the possible development from the Saints' vantage point, offering another possibility, as well.
"What would they do to get themselves a Manning playing quarterback in the city that really gave us that family as a first football family?" Young said. "I don't think that there would be stops to pull out, except one. Doug Nussmeier is the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints. His son, Garrett, is the starting quarterback for the LSU Tigers, and he is the most prolific returning SEC quarterback in 2025."
