The Boston Celtics had a chance to go 3-0 in their NBA playoff series against the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Unfortunately, however, they ended up losing 95-93 in the showdown at Kia Center.
Jayson Tatum and company struggled throughout the contest, with their 19 turnovers proving costly. The Magic also dominated in the offensive rebounding department with 15, while the Celtics only had eight.
While the Celtics had to deal with plenty of issues during the game, fans couldn't help but pin most of the blame on the NBA referees for the loss.
The Magic's physicality in the contest was a major talking point, with Celtics guard Jaylen Brown even saying in his postgame presser that it is "starting to feel like it's not even basketball."
Boston players and fans certainly felt there should have been more fouls called on Orlando, which finished with 23 personal fouls.
"Refs sold us wth," a fan wrote on the comment section of the Celtics' post about the final score in Game 3. Another one said, "Same refs that screwed up the warriors at Houston smh."
"The referees 1 boston 2 incredible that nobody does anything about it," a commenter added.
A follower claimed, "refs were paid. simple as that."
"Refs did us dirty, glad and surprised no one got hurt," a fifth supporter remarked.
"That 3rd was horrendous but those refs 100% decided that game smh," a disappointed social media user stated.

It remains to be seen how the Celtics will adjust and counter the physicality the Magic are showing them in their series. However, regardless of the officiating and their issues with it, they can only control what they can.
The Celtics have already shown that they can dominate the Magic in Games 1 and 2, so hopes remain high that they will be able to find an answer quickly and bounce back in Game 4 on Sunday.
