Cedric Ross is loyal to his coaches.
The Estacado speedster committed to Colorado State in June when Jay Norvell was at the helm. CSU fired Norvell midseason when the Rams fell to 2-5. With the move, Ross decided to reevaluate his recruiting situation.
Jim Mora brought him back.
Mora, who got the CSU job a day before Thanksgiving, sold Ross on how he'd utilize the 5-foot-8, 170-pounder. Ross re-committed to the Rams on Tuesday and made it official on National Signing Day.
"I believe in committing to the coach," Ross said Wednesday. "I committed to the original head coach, recommitted yesterday because I got close with the new head coach and I like his vision for me."

The vision? Ross as a running back who can play some at slot receiver. The plan is to use him as a returner as well. It's a blueprint in which Ross thrived at Estacado. This fall, he was voted District 2-4A Division II player of the year after 1,262 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns, 630 yards receiving and 11 TDs and five return TDs.
Mora made it clear that versatility is why he wanted Ross.
"(Mora said) that I'm a special player," Ross said, "and the ways that they could use me. I feel like, me as a player, I like to be used all around the field."
It was good Mora and Ross jelled, too. Ross said he took to Fort Collins and the Rams' environment.
"When I went on my visit, I enjoyed it," Ross said. "Just the culture that they're building, I love it."
