The Minnesota Vikings brought back veteran running back Aaron Jones after reworking his contract when it seemed he was destined to play elsewhere. The team also still has the likes of Jordan Mason and Zavier Scott, so the depth is there for this group to be a more talented bunch on the team.
But mock drafts and analysts suggest that they may not be done adding talent to the group. They have mocked several running backs, including the likes of Emmett Johnson, who recently visited the team for a "Top 30" visit.
To further push the idea, the team should add another piece to push those already on the team. Johnson is getting some last-second hype heading into next week's draft. CBS Sports analyst Pete Prisco wrote up several players he is higher on than the consensus, which included Johnson.
He wrote, "Of all the backs in this draft, Emmett Johnson might have the best vision. I love runners who can see the hole, make a cut, and get positive yards. Guys who can only make plays when the hole is in front of them are concerning for me. This kid has the ability to play with patience and make people miss. At 5-foot-10, 204 pounds, he is a solid back who can break tackles. Some teams have concerns about his speed, but he ran a 4.49 at his pro day to help alleviate those concerns. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield, which helps his value. I love him as a second or third-round pick."
Beyond him having some of the best vision, as Prisco points out, he is also a dual-threat out of the backfield, unlike anyone else in the class. The Vikings could use that versatility in the backfield as they look to get as much help for whoever ends up being the quarterback in 2026.
