The Cleveland Cavaliers took care of business on Monday night by eliminating the Miami Heat in Game 4 of their first-round NBA playoffs series.
The Cavs dominated a hapless Heat side from start to finish en route to a series-clinching 138-83 blowout win.
Shortly after the final buzzer, Cleveland superstar Donovan Mitchell (22 points, four triples) was asked to share his thoughts on the win and how the Cavs are now headed to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Before anything else, however, Mitchell made sure to send a heartfelt message to Heat veteran Kevin Love, who on Sunday announced the passing of his father.
"First of all, I want to give my condolences to Kevin Love and his family," Mitchell said. "That's my dog. Been a part of, you know, a lot of success here in Cleveland. Big part of here.
"You know, I saw he was here. I didn't get to see him. But, you know, my brother, I love you. I'm wishing you, just keeping you in my prayers, man."
The Cavs shared Mitchell's statement on social media, while also issuing their own message for Love.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, @kevinlove .

Love played nine years in Cleveland before he moved to Miami, and it was with the Cavs that the five-time All-Star won his lone career championship. This was in 2016 alongside LeBron James in Cleveland's historic NBA Finals comeback against the Golden State Warriors.
As Mitchell said, Love is an important figure for the Cavs organization, and this is also why the team made sure to send their condolences to the 36-year-old amid his painful family tragedy.

Love's father, Stan Love, passed away at the age of 88 after what the Heat big man described as the "hardest stretch" in the past six months. Stan Love was a former NBA and ABA player, having had stints with the Baltimore Bullets, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs between 1971 and 1975.
