CAMBRIDGE − State record-breakers, multi-event state track runners-up, and historic 1,000 kill milestones. The 2026 high school sports season across the Daily Jeffersonian coverage area didn't just produce great athletes−it produced legendary athletic efforts. From Cambridge to Meadowbrook, John Glenn to Shenandoah, and Caldwell to Barnesville and Buckeye Trail our local student-athlete stars spent the last nine months rewriting the local history books.

Now that the high school sports season has officially come to a close, it is time to look back and sect the top-student athlete from a special 2026 prep sports season absolutely full of worth candidates. In an era where sports specialization has become the norm, these multi-sport standouts proved you can still dominate on every single surface, all year round. More than just statistics, these athletes represent the heart and soul of our local communities, carrying the banner of school pride every time they stepped under the lights.
