Casey Mears has found a new ride that should allow him to make his 500th NASCAR Cup Series start during the 2026 season. Mears will drive the No. 62 car for Beard Motorsports in five races during the 2026 campaign, the team announced. The 48-year-old driver's first start will be at Talladega Superspeedway in April 2026.

Mears will also drive the No. 66 car at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, the second race at Talladega, and the 2026 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. If Mears makes all five races during the 2026 NASCAR season, his 500th Cup Series start will be at Homestead in November.

The Beard Motorsports driver has one victory in his Cup Series career, coming in the 2007 Coca-Cola 600 for Hendrick Motorsports. Mears came back to NASCAR with the goal of making his 500th Cup Series start. If everything goes to plan, Mears will reach that milestone in November.
