Prater hit at an 88% clip when he was healthy. If he can stay healthy he is a solid kicker. I really thought he would retire after last season.

Agree. It better include game day active incentives with Prater's injury history.

Will be interesting to see if there are any guarantees in this deal. If there aren't and they find a young kicker who can beat him out, then this is a good back up plan.

at some point, the team will need to find some younger specialists

my issue with Prater is that given his age, injuries have become an issue: hasnt kicked in all 17 the last two years

his missing games + Keims replacement kicker fiasco likely cost this team at least one win vs a playoff team and possibly two-- at a time in the season where maybe 1 or 2 wins changes the trajectory.

Further: Vet minimums are more than younger player minimums.

i guess when they brought back Jeff Rodgers, i should have just planned for Prater and Andy Lee to return
