I think the only possible explanation is the one that Billick gave -- Whiz is done with Skelton, and wants to keep evaluating Lindley. It's clear Lindley does not give us a better chance to win this game.

Agreed. Unless you're a blind optimist, you have to know our season is effectively over. We are going nowhere, every decision should be geared towards what makes us better in the future. I think we've removed all doubt as to Skelton's value and it's looking much the same with Lindley. John would probably improve our chances in this game but all in all, it really doesn't matter.

Skelton is not the answer for the future, he is really bad but Lindley is worse. Just put Skelton in because no sane organization would keep any of the two after the season
