Feeling pretty good about how our talent is stacking up.

We need our #1 and #33 to make an impact and our coaching staff to match wits with the Rams.

I may have some of these guys in the wrong position, so feel free to correct.

On paper it looks like a fair matchup. In reality, we need a good scheme, good health, and a functional offense so as not to be on the short end of the field at all times.

Last year was probably the greatest outlier season I have ever seen as a Cardinal fan. The coaching staff was so pitiful, that I can't imagine that we were as bad as we looked. I'm not saying that we're ready to unseat the Rams at the top, but I can't imagine that we won't be significantly more competitive. We may lose some close ones that we should win, but we will be far more entertaining on both sides of the ball. And I say that regardless of who our QB ends up being.

Crap...realized I had Suggs in there twice. That would be nice!

Sub one of those Suggs for Bosa or Q. :)

I like this version better. [emoji16]

Is Cooper Kupp not going to be available to start the season?

Their excellent offense is a problem for our talented defense. Their bad defense was more than enough to overcome our execrable offense last season. If we can be league-average on offense and get some defensive stops, we could not lose by 30 points in each game.

I'm of the opinion that Wilks and Co. were as bad as a staff comes in the NFL. I think the Cardinals are much better than they showed; the defense should be significantly better and the offense will be better as well.

The Cardinals are decent at most of the key positions. Pass Rusher (x2), CB, OT, QB. If you can win battles at those positions, you should be in most games. I think Kingsbury is going to make the most difference for Rosen AND David Johnson. I expect DJ to catch a lot of passes in space and that his receiving numbers are going to be quite good next year.

My biggest concern is still the offensive line. I'm not sold on Humphries.

Yes, but going from a 3-win team to an 8-win team probably isn't enough to say "We're basically as talented as the defending NFC Champs."

I also am not sure how you can say that we're decent at OT. Marcus Gilbert has started 12 games combined in the last 2 seasons and D.J. Humphries can be depended on to need help for the 10 games he appears in every year.

I do expect our offense to improve from "Historically bad" to "still concerning", but I'm not as bullish on our defense as you are. If you're depending on Haason Reddick to be, like, good, your defense probably won't be.

We're probably 2 outstanding drafts and a competent coaching staff away from the Rams, so this is embarrassing to compare the two.

I’m not sold on Humphries either. Somehow, someway, we should consider drafting the LT from Washington State. He’s the perfect fit for the offense we will run.

I think there is a large gap in talent, and I will have to see what the gap in coaching will be.

Oh hell no, the Cardinals aren't as talented as the Rams. I'd argue the Cardinals have better pass rushers, and that's about it.

The OT comment is more in a vacuum; Gilbert and Humphries are both credible NFL players, but both have health concerns obviously.

I'm optimistic about the defense because we have seen this cast of players be successful recently. I don't care what the haters say, Alford is a big upgrade over what the Cardinals have trotted out at CB2 for the past five years. Suggs is better than Golden, even if he has slowed down. Reddick looks like he's moved from being massive liability to merely a slight liability.
