I don't know the details of course but Ryland is a RFA and has regressed from last year.

Karty will be an ERFA - which means the he would be eligible for the league minimum salary (2 years or less accrued seasons).

Of course, they could be trying to send Ryland a message/challenge him.

This seems like a BS move. So Ryland missed a couple of field goals, they all miss a couple. Ryland has been pretty damn solid since coming. Is he hurt?
Karty is 10 out of 15 this year!
Cardinals should worry about the offense and defense and the elephant in the room first!

I dunno. I'm team Ryland, but I'm okay with them trying to improve for next year, if that's what they are doing.

It does seem like the simple way out though. Like it is easy for everyone to see that the kicker had a bad game, so let's make a change there type of thing.

Congrats! Seems like a lot of kickers can do that.
Well, no kicker has ever kicked 3 game winning FG's in a row, so 3 out of 4 is the next best thing.
What has he done for us lately?
Had not a good season, after having a fantastic one the year before. He's earned some cred, at least in my book.

Source? No kicker has EVER made three game-winning FGs in a row until last year? Did that even sound real when you typed it?

The internet assisted by AI? Like what most people use to fact check.

I said that no kicker has ever made three game winning field goals in a row. Try Googling and looking it up yourself. I'll bet you a beer that you can't find a kicker who has done it.

I also said Ryland kicked 3 game winning field goals in 4 games. I didn't say until last year.

Google said:
While no one has three game-winning FGs in three straight games documented as a specific record, players like Vinatieri consistently deliver in those high-pressure situations, making them legendary for their consistent clutch performance.

Okay so probably fake but not willing to fact check for yourself.
