Forward Jordyn Huitema revealed on her personal Instagram account that she tore her ACL in the latest match she played against Angel City.
“Finding out I tore my ACL, has been heartbreaking. Soccer has given me so much, and having it taken away, even temporarily, hurts more than I can put into words,” wrote Huitema on her latest post.
The club has also confirmed the news.
“The Chicago Stars wish Jordyn a speedy recovery with full support from the club and look forward to her return to the pitch.”
Huitema had to be subbed out in the 28th minute due to a non-contact injury.
The Canadian arrived in Chicago this season and had rediscovered her form. She started 12 matches and scored four goals – the most since 2023 and second most in her career.
