PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The Canton boys wrestling team claimed its ninth consecutive Class ‘B’ state championship with a 37-26 win over Bon Homme/Avon at Pierre High School Saturday.
The C-Hawks defeated Parkston and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes in the earlier rounds. Bon Homme/Avon upset top-seed Winner in the semis and beat Kingsbury County in the quarterfinals.
Canton has reached the championship round 11 years in a row with 10 championships in that stretch.
