Can we at least be interesting?

For sure Minshew should be in an open competition with Brissett. Brissett was a terrible QB who led the league in garbage time stat padding. 24th in QBR, just barely ahead of Flacco and one of the only 7 QBs who were net negative in points added.

Things that would drive interest for Cardinal fans, in order of amount of interest:

1. Young QBOF drafted in April. Simpson needs to sit and learn for a season, so we are likely talking about a couple starts at the end of the season.

2. Jeremiah Love drafted at #3. Does he look like the superstar he projected to be? It would set the table to add a QB in 2027 and have a nice collection of skill players

The draft is going to be super interesting.

Does Monti trade back or reach for a player?

Do they do the smart thing and invest in pass rush / pass protection

Do they take Baby Arms McBain?

Do we take a mediocre tackle and pass on an incredible RB again?

I don't get how you don't like the Seumalo signing. It's objectively a good signing, very good pass protector by every metric.

I think you could get by with a guy already on the roster if you bring in a credible RT.
Someone said I listen to too much Pittsburgh sports talk radio. Maybe that's the case. Like I said, I'm done bitching about signing him.

Also, I don't want us to "get by" on the OL this offseason. I want the OL stacked, like the Bears did last year. It's basically our only shot.

Maybe not week 1, but he shouldn’t sit the whole damn season. Unlike Beck or Allar, his football IQ & processing isn’t the problem.
Yes! We will go 2-11 with Brissett and Minshew and then roll the kid out there.

I can agree with that. Give him half a season on the bench. Not saying I want him, but what you say makes sense.

With Allar, man, I just hope Franklin didn't break him to the point that there's no fixing him. Showed all the traits early and could yet develop into something special. Having an idiot coach talking you out of the kinds of things we wanted Kyler to be doing to develop has crushed him for a while. I'm betting on him to bounce back, but it may not work out.

At this point, I expect Mauigoa to be our pick & actually be an All-Pro. It only makes sense since we were told that by Marv only for the opposite to happen.

This is the Skud Anderson/Skelton/Max Hall era.

If only we were coming off a Kurt Warner to dull the pain.
Usually a rebuild comes with some sort of payoff - not only did we not come close to sniffing the playoffs in this rebuild BUT THE SAME MORON WHO PUT US IN THIS SITUATION AGAIN IS SOMEHOW STILL IN CHARGE!!!

People saying Bidwill isn't cheap, yet retains a completely unqualified failure of a GM...it's just beyond logic.

Right now, the Raiders appear to be winning the offseason. They have a stud TE, drafted the top RB last year, and will get the #1 QB in Mendoza. But there needs to be such a QB next season, and/or Monti has to be able to select the right one.

Monti can almost copy this formula if he wants to. Not saying it's the right path, after all, usually copying the Mark Davis Raiders would be insane. We'll see how it plays out.

Of course, he would need to be more aggressive to acquire some mid-level free agents and trade for some under-the-radar players as well.

Couldn't disagree more. When and if healthy our Offense will be near the top of the League. I'm assuming we acquire a RT in the first or second round. Defense is still a ? but we will be interesting. A threat to score 30+ every game.

No one should start drinking this heavily, this early in the morning.

1989: Gary Hogeboom (13 starts), Tom Tupa (2 starts), Timm Rosenbach (1 start)
2010: Derek Anderson (9 starts), John Skelton (4 starts), Max Hall (3 starts)

I think the above is definitely worse. But Lomax hadn't retired yet, and we had Rosenbach.
Any year with Dwreck, Max Hall, and Ron Jaworski's preseason hype of Skelton has to be up there.

2012: John Skelton (6 starts), Kevin Kolb (5 starts), Ryan Lindley (4 starts), Brian Hoyer (1 start)
2011: Kevin Kolb (9 starts), John Skelton (7 starts)

Koncussion Kolb gave hope to some, but I didn't like the ~6 yr 60 mill we gave him before he played for us and he had already been knocked out of a few games.

We're probably a notch above these four years. As of now, there's no young guy to even hope about.

We're drafting a QB, but will monti reach for a guy or be content to pick a 5th rounder?
Why did you remind me about those wonderful years of QB play lol.
