The Tennessee Titans are entering year two of Cam Ward being their starting quarterback.

Despite the deck being stacked against him, he put up 3,169 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

This was in light of a poor group of starting receivers, the third-worst rushing attack in the NFL and Brian Callahan being fired halfway through his rookie season.

Now, imagine how Ward would do with better weapons around him.

The Titans have given the young quarterback better weapons this offseason, with Wan'Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate.

He also now has Brian Daboll as his offensive coordinator, who has had plenty of success with young quarterbacks in the NFL. Daboll has worked with Josh Allen and Daniel Jones, as well as Jaxson Dart last season.

Daboll had the most success with Allen and Jones and then had promising moments with Dart.

There are high expectations on Ward now that he has a new head coach in Robert Saleh. Some people still aren't sold on the Titans quarterback, however.

PFF's Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick went through and ranked every starting quarterback in the NFL.

Ward came in at No. 29, which is way too low considering some of the players ranked ahead of him.

"Ward’s rookie season certainly didn’t go as planned," PFF said. "His head coach was fired early in the season, his pass protection was inconsistent, and his top wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, played just seven games. He persevered to make every start while throwing 15 touchdowns against seven interceptions, but Ward and the Titans will need to develop together to make a postseason push."

The players beneath Ward were Malik Willis, Jacoby Brissett and Deshaun Watson. Ward's ranking is truly disrespectful when you look at a few of the players above him.

In order, Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Dart and Tyler Shough are all above Ward.

Tagovailoa didn't even play a full season last year due to injury and put up questionable numbers. He threw for 2,660 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Cousins wasn't even the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons for most of last season. Then, you have Dart and Shough.

Dart and Shough were the two quarterbacks who went after Ward in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ward went No. 1 overall, then the Giants took Dart at No. 25. The New Orleans Saints selected Shough in the second round.

Unlike both of them, Ward was able to start a full 17-game season. Dart sat behind Russell Wilson for the first three games of his rookie year, and Shough wasn't named the starting quarterback of the Saints until Week 9.

Ward then threw for more yards than Dart did and then had more passing yards and touchdowns with fewer interceptions than Shough did.

It seems like no matter what the Titans do, they can't get respect from around the NFL, even if the numbers back it up in Ward's case.

I guess the Titans will have to prove to the NFL that they are worthy of respect in 2026.
