Calls Mount For Pat Riley's Retirement After Heat's NBA Playoffs Exit

The Miami Heat have been under a lot of pressure to live up to their postseason riser reputation. Coach Erik Spoelstra always prides himself on bringing a squad to heights that surpass expectations. It just could not be the case when they went up against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Round 1.

Some Heat fans have started to trace the downfall of the squad when Pat Riley's relationship with Jimmy Butler soured. Others even thought that the big boss in South Beach could have done more in surrounding Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo with better talent.

After the 138-83 loss to the Cavaliers, some members of the faithful have had enough and vented out their frustrations.

Statements like "Pat Riley owes Jimmy Butler an apology," and "Pat Riley is washed, you ain’t got it no more big dog," ran amok online.

Some other fans were even fed up with the narrative that Miami has been running in the past few years: "Pat Riley ruined my love for the game."

The Heat just suffered the most lopsided series loss in NBA Playoffs history. They lost to the Cavaliers with a total of 122 points and could not claw themselves back up, unlike in seasons past.

"Heat would become better if Pat Riley retires. He is the reason the Heat will continue to suck, a fan said.

"I call on Pat Riley to retire ASAP," and "Hopefully this makes Pat Riley retire," were the consensus that most fans ran with after this Game 4 NBA Playoffs loss.

Bam Adebayo and Erik Spoelstra are expecting Riley to make some major moves during the Heat's offseason. So, a change in leadership at South Beach might be very unlikely.
