The interior OL could have been addressed along with some LB help, and a legit 2nd/3rd WR.
But we signed Davis-Gaithet and ??????
Oh, that's right, Josh Sweat, a mid-pass rusher they gave big money to.
At least they were able to add Fehoko after clearing waivers.

Sweat has been good & he isn’t even top 15 highest paid pass-rusher.
3 sacks thru 4 games but looked a little banged up tonight - hopefully 10 days rest can help our anchor

If we're out of playoff contention before the trade deadline, I hope we do the right thing and let Calais try to win something with a team serious about competing for a championship.

Do the right thing? He could’ve done that instead of signing here. Matter fact, he signed with non-championship contenders the previous two teams as well. I don’t think he cares about any championship.

If we get a good pick in return(we won’t), sure. If not, absolutely not. He made his choice.
CC has mentioned a couple times in interviews that he likes being a part of teams needing a boost to get to the next level. he enjoys helping young teams go from piss poor to good...I recall it specifically from an interview he had right after joining Jacksonville

I am thinking...if Mike has any class... we submit CC to the ring of honor during the final home game of the season. Let the big guy get the love of the crowd while he is still playing rather than wait until he retires.
Calais might be the perfect football player. Super talented, great family man off the field, never injured, played for eternity.

He should play another year. Zero sign of decline and he clearly loves football.
He should get a raise too. He's getting mugged at $7m a year.

More reason to keep him because he wants to be here. I also never been a fan of that “Team needs to do right by player & send him to a contender” fairy-tale nonsense unless we get a good pick in return, lmao.

his statement was just that he wants to give everything this season, totally empty the tank, then reevaluate after the season is over.
and now the man is on pace to have his best season ever. Not many walk away after that...plus there is the allure of playing for a round "20 seasons" rather than just 19
You can never play again once done. If you're healthy any player should keep going until the demand for their services ends.
