Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is not on board with fans of the team booing head coach Stephanie White during their win over the New York Liberty.
Coach White has led the Fever to a 21-12 record, but receives significantly more criticism than praise for her handling of the team with media superstars like Clark and Sophie Cunningham on the roster.
The franchise is making it clear that they’re united behind White. It began with Cunningham defending the coach after the game, with Clark joining in as well with a powerful admission.
Caitlin Clark felt sick after watching Fever fans boo Stephanie White
After the Fever’s 106-92 win over the New York Liberty, Clark addressed the media, expressing her sadness over watching Fever fans boo their head coach, while emphasising they won this game for her.
“There was no way we were losing this game for [Stephanie White]. … I hated that our fans booed her before the game. That made me a little sick, to be honest.”
Clark ended the game with 22 points and 10 assists on 7-15 shooting, with the Fever being led by Kelsey Mitchell’s 28 points (11-16 FG). Sophie Cunningham had a solid 12 points on 4-5 from three-point range.
The Fever shot an incredible 16-25 from three as a team, which made the Liberty’s chances nearly impossible, with them shooting 11-36 from outside during this game.
Stephanie White addressed the hate she’s received recently
One of the main reasons for Fever fans being angry with Coach White was because she defended DiJonai Carrington’s ejection-worthy foul on Sophie Cunningham during their win over the Sky on Saturday.

White refused to attribute negative intent to Carrington behind the foul, which led fans to get angry. But that’s something Cunningham has now reiterated during her comments after tonight’s win.
Fever fans have also criticised White for previously failing to stand up for Clark when opponents were getting physical with the 24-year-old, so all the frustrations boiled over into the boos against the Liberty.
But with the Fever poised to make a Playoff run and the players firmly backing their coach, a successful end to the season might remedy all bad feelings.
