Making WNBA history has become a regular occurrence for Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, and we saw another example of that on Friday night.

In a 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings, Clark scored 29 points, 10 assists and three rebounds.

That marks the 13th time in Clark’s career she has finished a game with 25-plus points and 10-plus assists, and it was the seventh time this season she has accomplished that feat.

In the process, she added to her own record, as her 13 games with those totals are more than double the amount anyone else has totaled in league history, ESPN Insights noted.

Taking it a step further, Clark has more such games in 2026 alone than anyone else has in the entire history of the league, with the next closest player having six.

As if we needed more evidence that Clark is a generational player.

Through 30 games played this season (she missed four due to injury), Clark is averaging 21.9 points, 8.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds per contest.

Her points and assists per game averages rank third and first, respectively, in the WNBA, which at least puts Clark in the conversation for MVP.

Further bolstering her case, the Fever are sitting at 22-12 and in the No. 4 playoff spot and are on the cusp of breaking the franchise record for most wins in a season, which sits at 24.

Barring a total collapse, the Fever should surpass that mark with 10 games left.

Other than competition from other players around the league, another thing that could hurt Clark’s candidacy is the fact that she’s flanked by another MVP-caliber player.

Fellow guard Kelsey Mitchell is having a sensational season, also, and is scoring more points per game than Clark with 24.3, although her numbers aren’t as well-rounded when it comes to assists (2.7) and rebounds (1.7).

Mitchell has also done some historic things this season, although she doesn’t get quite the recognition Clark does.

Even if neither one wins the MVP, that won’t diminish the truly special seasons both Clark and Mitchell have had.
