Caitlin Clark may already have one of the most recognizable names in women’s basketball, but Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman continue to call the Indiana Fever star something entirely different.
To the popular StudBudz duo, Clark is simply “The President.”
The nickname returned during the 2026 WNBA All-Star festivities in Chicago after Clark surprised Williams and Hiedeman with pairs of her new Nike Caitlin 1 signature shoes.
Williams enthusiastically thanked Clark during a livestream, declaring, “We love The President.” Clark then predicted a big night for Williams, saying, “Courtney’s gonna make shots from 40 tonight.” The exchange immediately caught fans’ attention and brought one of Clark’s funniest unofficial nicknames back into the spotlight.
Why do the StudBudz call Caitlin Clark ‘The President’?
The nickname dates back to the 2025 WNBA All-Star weekend, when Williams and Hiedeman were livestreaming their adventures as the StudBudz. While attempting to gain access to a location, Williams joked that she needed to contact someone with considerable influence.
“I’m calling the president, where’s Caitlin Clark?” Williams said.
Williams and Hiedeman later admitted that mentioning Clark’s name could occasionally help them receive special treatment or other perks. That made “The President” an appropriate title for a player whose popularity and influence extend well beyond the court. The joke remained memorable among fans, but Williams’ reaction to receiving Clark’s signature shoes gave it new life one year later.
Supporters filled social media with messages for “President CC,” while others laughed at how naturally Williams has continued using the title. Clark is much more commonly known as “CC,” but the StudBudz have managed to give her a nickname that reflects her enormous profile across the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark surprises StudBudz with signature Nike shoes
Clark’s gift carried additional meaning because the Caitlin 1 represents another major achievement in her rapidly growing business portfolio. Nike officially unveiled Clark’s first signature basketball shoe during All-Star weekend in Chicago. The Fever guard became the latest WNBA star to receive her own signature model, joining a select group that includes A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu.
Williams and Hiedeman were clearly thrilled to receive early pairs directly from Clark. The moment also highlighted the friendship that has developed among the three guards. Although Williams and Hiedeman compete for the Minnesota Lynx and Clark plays for Indiana, All-Star weekend has allowed fans to see their playful relationship away from regular-season competition.
Clark’s prediction for Williams proved especially fitting after the Lynx guard helped Team Spoon defeat Team Coop, 129-122. Clark finished with 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and one steal while making five shots from beyond the arc. Between the shoes, long-distance prediction and renewed nickname, Clark once again received presidential treatment from the StudBudz.
“The President” may never replace “CC,” but Williams and Hiedeman are doing everything possible to make it stick.
