PECATONICA, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Byron and Pecatonica have had some good battles in football and basketball in recent years. They had another one Monday evening on the court. Byron won it 77-63.
The Tigers led throughout the game, but Pecatonica never let the Tigers get comfortable. The Indians always stayed within striking distance.
Junior big man Zion Braimah was sensational for Pecatonica. He scored 29 points, and he grabbed ten rebounds. Sophomore point guard Karter Degner added 18 points.
Byron was led by Ben Hiveley’s 21 points and Cason Newton’s 20 points. Caden Considine added 12. Kole Aken and Weston Auker each scored nine points.
Byron’s record improves to 15-4. Pecatonica’s record is 12-10. Watch the media player for highlights.
