RAVEN AGREE TO TERMS WITH MARCUS ROBINSON

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed in principle to a one-year contract with WR Marcus Robinson. Robinson is entering his seventh year in the NFL and has 187 career receptions for 2,695 yards and 20 TDs in 28 starts. He played the first six years of his career with the Chicago Bears, and his bio can be found on page 99 of the Bears media guide.

"Marcus will provide more veteran xperience to our receiving corps," said General Manager Ozzie Newsome. "He will be one year removed from his knee surgery. Our experiences with players coming off surgery and the second year they seem to be able to get back to the level of performance they were playing at before the surgery. If that is the case with Marcus, this will be a really nice addition for us."

Robinson will be in Baltimore on Tuesday, May 6 to sign the contract, will participate in the Ravens off season workout program and attend the May 9-11 minicamp.

I wouldn't say that. A vet may find his way here before camp opens. Or maybe Graves et al are completely comfortable with the youngsters. In some ways, it makes all the sense in the world to just throw them into the pool and make them swim. I am disappointed Robinson won't be playing here but thems the breaks.

Jim, I'm sorry to say this - but can I come back to you with that quote come week 8 next season when we are 0-7? Not just because of this one move, but for the littany of screw-ups all off-season long?

Tango i was overexaggerating - but you want to make this bet, going into week 8 - we won't have more than 2 wins? Can you handle that? I'll up the bet to 250 - what do you say?

My comment was pertaining to the Wr's situation. I don't think that the sky is falling because we didn't sing Marcus Robinson. If we are 0-8 because of the WR situation, you can come back to me with the "Sky is falling" quote. That is what I meant.

Everyone keeps saying.....Marcus would be of value as a vet to teach the kids........what a stupid reason to sign a 7 yr. broken down retread.....that is what coaches are for, for goodness sake, to teach the young'ins. I mean if our draft and other young receivers were Moss type problem children and needed a Cris Carter to hold their hands and to make sure they stayed on the straight and narrow, that's one thing.....but they are not. Gheeeez.....does every component of a team need mentors ( Smith for the RB's, Robinson for the WR's etc). I think not!

We don't need Marcus Robinson ( he'd be a similar version of an old Rob Moore)....we don't need Carolina's M. Muhammed either. We have the GD best WR coach in the business and we have a slew of talented young ,healthy WR's as it is. We need help at the QB, CB areas.....that's where are focus needs to be.

OK....here's the deal. If it's OK with Skkorp.....the loser donates 250$ to the ASFN site. I say the Cards will NOT be 0-7 going into week 8.

Agreed?

Tyke Tolbert is the "GD best WR coach in the business"? Wow. Didn't know that.

A vet is always nice to have. At least you didn;t just spit back nonsense about Robinson's health to make your argument...oh wait, you did.

Just watch him in BAL this year and then we can come back at season's end and you can try and convince me you were still right. He is 100% healthy, playing for a big contract and there is a very good chance he will start.

No - as I said in my earlier post - I was exaggerating at 0-7 - then I upped the ante to 250 based on the fact we wouldn't be better than 2-5 - is ther a reason you just plain ignored all that?

OK...I posted my response before seeing your last one.

And no...I'm only interested in the original bet.....that the Cards are not 0-7. If you are foolish enough to take that bet, I don't really want your money....that's why I made the offer of loser to contribute to the site here.

If you don't want that bet. Fine. No problem.

even though I think we will be bad this year, only a truly special team could go 0-7 - I don't think we're that team. No bet. They will 2-5 or worse though - I will guarantee that.

By they way - that's a bold face lie. You quoted the exact post where I said I would change the bet. What is wrong with you man?
