Agreed but not the point of my post.
I’ll elaborate. Drafting CBs is a crapshoot. It’s almost as bad as QBs. So having strong safeties is essential. The way this defense works is Baker is moved all over the place. That’s a hard role to draft for, remember Simmons. Also the Cards have a history of suffering when they trade or release leaders. Gannon has gone out of his way to praise Baker’s leadership. I’d be surprised if they think they can replace him. It is a great deal to pay for safeties, but when they’re two of your best impact players you make it work.
