The preseason is a time for teams to figure out their depth charts and which players they acquired or drafted in the offseason will play what roles in the upcoming season. While the Bucs and Todd Bowles bring an old-school mentality to the games and only play the players they have to, other coaches take a more all-hands-on-deck approach.
One of those teams happens to be the Bucs' preseason opponent on Friday: The New York Jets
While speaking to the media on Tuesday, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn shared that “everyone is playing” against the Bucs. The Jets are a team with a lot of position battles going on and are trying to see how tough a team they have on their hands in 2026. To the Bucs' benefit, who may not be playing many starters, this will allow them to better evaluate their depth players.
