Bleacher Report recently grouped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers among teams that could still face quarterback questions moving forward, even after the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tampa Bay spent most of the offseason improving other areas of the roster instead of aggressively pursuing a quarterback addition. The draft class focused heavily on defense, particularly the front seven, while the offense largely stayed intact around Baker Mayfield.

That approach reflects internal organizational confidence, but the public perception has not shifted completely. Nationally, the Buccaneers are still viewed more as a solid playoff-caliber team than one built around a quarterback considered untouchable long term.

Teams with established elite quarterbacks rarely appear in conversations about the future urgency at the position, while teams in the tier below continue to face questions, even when they are competitive.

The interesting part is that Tampa Bay did not behave like a team worried about the quarterback during the draft. The front office prioritized strengthening the roster at the position rather than resetting it.

That decision puts pressure on the current structure to work, because winning consistently is ultimately what changes the conversation.
