Playing in their first district championship game since 2006, Souderton faced a tough opponent in defending champion Owen J. Roberts. The Indians’ youthful pitching combo – freshman Katie Straub and sophomore Madi Mott – were more than up to the challenge, allowing a total of five hits to the power-hitting Wildcats. However, the Wildcats capitalized on a few early miscues in the field to score their first four runs.

Owen J. Roberts defeated North Penn in last year's title game, winning 3-1.

Key Plays:

  • OJR took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, with both runs unearned, and they added two more in the fourth inning, both of which were also unearned. That would be enough for the Wildcats to hold on for the win, despite being outhit by Souderton 6-5. All five of the Wildcats’ hits were singles.
