The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added linebacker depth by signing Anthony Walker Jr. off the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad, bringing him back to an organization he was with earlier this offseason.

Walker originally signed with the Buccaneers during the offseason but was released after using the preseason to recover from a knee injury. He has not yet logged any active snaps during the 2025 season. Now healthy, Walker returns to Tampa Bay as an experienced depth option at linebacker. A room that now features Lavonte David, SirVocea Dennis, who missed the last game with an injury, Deion Jones, and two undrafted rookies in John Bullock and Nick Jackson

A former Indianapolis Colt, Walker entered the league in 2017 and has appeared in 99 career games with 83 starts across stops with the Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins. During his time in Indianapolis, he played a high volume of defensive snaps from 2018 through 2020, serving as a regular starter in the middle of the defense.

Over eight NFL seasons, Walker has recorded 581 combined tackles, four interceptions, 26 tackles for loss, and 21 passes defended. His snap history also shows consistent special-teams involvement throughout his career, so Walker has a few avenues to help this team during the most critical part of their season.

For the Buccaneers, the signing provides veteran depth and familiarity at both linebacker and on special teams. For Walker, it offers another opportunity to reenter a defensive rotation as the season continues down a critical stretch.
