The Bucs have long considered themselves to have one of the better offensive lines in the NFL, but how do those outside the team view them?
PFF recently released their rankings of the best offensive lines ahead of the 2025 season, and the Bucs earned a prominent spot, just not the top one. While the team did not get into the top five, they finished just outside of it, earning the sixth-best group on the list.
Zoltan Buday, who compiled the rankings, explains the Bucs' spot, saying, "Second-year improvements in back-to-back seasons have helped turn the Buccaneers' offensive line into a top unit. Right tackle Luke Goedeke in 2023 and right guard Cody Mauch in 2024 developed into standout blockers, and now center Graham Barton will look to follow suit in 2025. Having arguably the best pass-blocking offensive lineman in the entire NFL surely helps this group, as left tackle Tristan Wirfs’s 94.1 PFF pass-blocking grade in 2024 led all offensive tackles."
Wirfs, the Bucs' building block of the offensive line, will miss the start of the season after undergoing knee surgery last week. As for the rest of the offensive line, they are ready to make sure Baker Mayfield and the offense don't miss a beat in 2025.
Once Wirfs returns, the unit should be back to it's normal self, but they have to survive without their All-Pro centerpiece.
