The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been named a potential landing spot in a proposed blockbuster trade scenario involving Green Bay Packers edge rusher Rashan Gary.

In a recent article from Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, Gary was listed among six NFL players who should be traded this offseason but likely will not be. Gagnon notes that while Green Bay could consider moving Gary to recoup draft capital and create between $10–20 million in cap savings, the move would come with significant risk for a team that still views itself as a contender.

Gary, 28, remains one of the more proven edge rushers in the league and would immediately upgrade any pass-rush rotation. According to the piece, contenders with cap flexibility and a need for a strong No. 2 rusher could show interest, specifically naming the Chargers, 49ers, and Buccaneers.

For Tampa Bay, the fit is obvious. The Buccaneers continue to build around a young defensive core, and adding a seasoned pass rusher opposite Yaya Diaby would give Todd Bowles another impact presence off the edge. The suggested price tag of a Day 2 draft pick could make the move realistic, depending on how aggressive general manager Jason Licht wants to be, but as we know, the Buccaneers' window may be closing.

While the article suggests a trade is unlikely, the Buccaneers' mention signals that league observers still view Tampa Bay as a contender willing to make win-now moves.
