The Philadelphia Phillies are rolling, extending their winning streak to five games after shutting out the visiting Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, 5-0.
The game was notable for a few reasons. For one, it was the debut of Philadelphia’s MLB trade deadline acquisition and three-time batting champion Luis Arraez.
And with Arraez coming to town and taking over the second base slot, the Phillies had to make some shuffling on defense, resulting in Bryce Harper returning to the outfield, particularly in right field. Before that, the last time Harper played right field was in 2022.

Following the game, Harper fielded questions from reporters and was asked about what he heard from the fans behind him in the outfield.
“A guy told me he wanted a latte. That was pretty good. That was pretty good,” the former National League Rookie of the Year said, leaving the reporters laughing, via NBC Sports Philadelphia.
As for his overall experience playing right field again, Harper admitted he is still getting acquainted with the position.
“Yeah, it felt good. I think the hardest part for me is going to be going back on the ball. Anything coming in, I think I’m going to be okay,” the nine-time All-Star said.
“But it’s kind of relearning going back on the ball a little bit. I’d probably say just, you know, my own thoughts, my own head. Not being able to communicate with umpires or first base coaches or, you know, guys on base. So that’s a little bit different. But, yeah, it felt good.”
Harper went 0-for-2 with a run scored and two walks and a strikeout in the win over his former team.
