Massive college football venues continue to define the sport’s culture across the United States, where more 100,000-seat stadiums exist than anywhere else in the world.

From the Big House in Michigan to the cathedrals of SEC football, college football is home to some of the largest stadiums on the planet. World Atlas recently stacked North America’s biggest venues by seating capacity for the 2025-36 seasons, and the rankings reveal where Alabama’s football stadiums measure up among the sport’s giants.

Bryant-Denny Stadium ranks No. 8 in North America

World Atlas reported that Bryant-Denny Stadium currently has a capacity of 100,077 following a 2020 renovation that reduced the venue’s previously listed capacity of 101,821 to create additional premium seating and fan amenities.

Recently, country music star Morgan Wallen sold out the stadium on April 18, the venue’s first concert since Alabama performed after the A-Day spring game in 1992.

During the 2025 football season, seven Crimson Tide home games were sold out.

The 10 largest stadiums in North America

Here’s how World Atlas ranked the largest stadiums in North America:

  1. Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan: 107,601

  9. Sanford Stadium, Athens, Georgia: 92,746
  10. Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas: 92,100

Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium earns honorable mention

While it did not crack the top 10, Jordan-Hare Stadium still earned recognition as one of the largest stadiums in North America.

Home to the Auburn Tigers football program, Jordan-Hare ranked No. 13 overall on World Atlas’ list of the top 50 largest stadiums in North America with a listed capacity of 88,043.

The inclusion of both Bryant-Denny and Jordan-Hare highlights Alabama’s place at the center of college football culture, with two of the nation’s largest and most recognizable stadiums located less than 160 miles apart.
